Finding The Time

I don't seem to be getting it right. The days are flying by. I'm accomplishing nothing but very busy all the time. And so I keep missing recording so many things. Bu today I just keep chuckling at this one so I had to post it.

I was in Aleka's bedroom when I heard a bang. Then the crying from Halía. When I had left she'd been jumping on our bed and I'd pointed out she might hurt herself. Asking her to stop is pointless. So after the tears had ended and she had told me she'd hit her head on the night table, I asked "Were you jumping?" Answer: No, I was falling.

Cracks me up.

And then this afternoon there was a fly in the living room. She will only call it a bee, but whatever. After it had disappeared she says, "maybe now it is up high high high. So high, and eating some clouds." I like that one.

In other news, it is cooking hot here. Waking up to 20 degrees. And then it closes in on 30 through out the day. Luckily our house doesn't get tons of direct sunlight or I'd be dying. Definitely time to head to Vancouver.

We are off tomorrow to visit Jan's family in Belgium. Decided to drive there. So we are taking 10 days, and from Bruges, catching the ferry to England for a visit and driving back through France. The strategic plan is to drive a couple of hours in the morning and a couple more in the afternoon and the girls are very well rested because they nap all the time. Ha ha.

But I'm looking forward to it. Jan agrees and says it will be relaxing. I'm not sure that is quite the word. Trying to get everyone to sleep in a hotel room for X number of nights. Keeping a toddler entertained at X number of meals in a restaurant. Relaxing is not the word. Oh, and he broke my stroller the other day. So the only way to open it is to use the car key to press down where the handle use to be. Yeah, it'll be great getting in and out of the car X times a day doing that. But other than all that, I do think it will be lots of fun.

If I get near a computer, I'll let you know how it is all going!

Scott and I just sat here and laughed and laughed. That is an awesome story. I wish I had one to match it with, but instead I'll just keep giggling until you get here. So glad you're on your way. Good luck with your epic road trip - relaxing no, but possibly fun. And fun counts for a lot if you're not relaxed.

Can't wait to see you.
