The view from Jan's office is gorgeous. Full of windows, it overlooks the water and islands of Howe Sound. So far the weather has been pretty grey, but it is still nice to see how the light plays through the clouds. The windows in our bedroom are low enough, and the bed high enough so that you don't even have to lift your head to enjoy the scene :) We see eagles soaring overhead every day, and are looking forward (well, I am at least) to a safe bear sighting sometime soon; ie, us in the car and bear meandering down the road.
Lions Bay is a very small community. I have found some 'facts' to give you an idea.
Incorporated on January 2, 1971, the Village of Lions Bay is one of the smallest municipalities in British Columbia.
There are 539 homes in Lions Bay with a population around 1328 residents.
The area of Lions Bay is approximately 560 hectares with 10 km of paved roads.
We are a 15 min drive to mom & dad, and have spotted lots of young children on our street. We are looking forward to meeting all our new neighbors.
We currently have an entire room devoted to empty carboard boxes and I'm two dining room chairs away from finishing all the assemly from last week's Ikea delivery. I only have one scar on my forehead where a table leg fell on me.
The WeaZel is doing very well. Saw the midwife yesterday morning who gave us the very good news that the baby is no longer breech. I was dreading the thought of a scheduled C-section. Did a BIG shop with mom last week and brought back everything the baby could possibly need. It is a very good thing she just got a big SUV! Crib, stroller, car seat, bassinet, sheets, mattress....
So just getting a little more settled, while Jan works away on his PhD. My favourite passtime is still watching the wiggly worm, aka WeaZel, move around. I just love it :)
Lots of love,
pics to come
